Recipe Ingredients

2 cups 474mlFresh basil
1 cup 237mlFresh Italian parsley
1/2 cup 73g / 2.6ozGrated Parmesan or romano cheese
1/2 cup 118mlPine nuts - toasted
4   Garlic cloves - roughly chopped
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlSalt
1/8 teaspoon 0.6mlRed pepper flakes
1/2 cup 118mlOlive oil
1 tablespoon 15mlLemon juice
2 tablespoons 30mlWater

Recipe Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender. Puree until the mixture forms a smooth, thick paste.

This recipe yields 3 cups.

Pizza Toppings for Pesto Sauce: Sliced crimini mushrooms, reconstituted sun-dried tomatoes, sliced black olives, shaved Parmesan cheese.

Rustica Pizza:

Suggested Toppings for sauceless pizza: Olive oil, Italian herb spice blend, sliced yellow tomatoes, fresh rosemary and parsley, smoked salmon.
