Mexican Key Lime Pie Recipe - Cooking Index
6 | Egg yolks | |
2 | Condensed milk - (14 oz ea) | |
2 cups | 474ml | Key Lime juice |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Tabasco brand Green Pepper Sauce |
2 cups | 292g / 10oz | Graham cracker crumbs |
1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Brown sugar |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Butter - melted |
Combine melted butter, brown sugar and Graham cracker crumbs. Mix well to moisten crumbs. Spread crumbs evenly on bottom half and half-way up the sides of a well-greased 10-inch spring form pan. Place crust in cooler until ready to fill.
Stir together condensed milk, lime juice and egg yolks. Blend well. Remove 1 cup of mixture and place in a bowl. Blend in Tabasco brand Green pepper Sauce.
Pour remaining mixture into crust, then place the Tabasco mixture on top. Swirl mixtures together.
Bake in a water bath in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 2 hours or until set.
Remove cake from water bath and continue baking for 30 minutes. Allow cake to cool completely before removing from spring form pan.
