Apple Brown Betty Recipe - Cooking Index
8 cups | 500g / 17oz | All-purpose flour - (32 oz) |
4 cups | 792g / 27oz | Butter - (32 oz) - melted |
9 cups | 1440g / 50oz | Brown sugar - (44 oz) - divided |
24 cups | 5688ml | Sliced peeled cored apples - (96 oz) |
2 1/2 teaspoons | 12ml | Cinnamon |
5 tablespoons | 75ml | Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce |
12 scoops | Vanilla ice cream | |
Whipped cream - as needed |
To prepare the crumb topping, combine flour, butter and 36 ounces brown sugar. Mix well. Hold.
Combine apples, cinnamon, Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce and remaining 8 ounces brown sugar. Spread on a greased sheet pan and top with reserved crumb topping. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes until top is golden brown. Cut into 12 portions.
For each serving, place one 8 ounce portion of Brown Betty on a plate. Top with one scoop ice cream and whipped cream.
