Apple Brown Betty

Recipe Ingredients

8 cups 500g / 17ozAll-purpose flour - (32 oz)
4 cups 792g / 27ozButter - (32 oz) - melted
9 cups 1440g / 50ozBrown sugar - (44 oz) - divided
24 cups 5688mlSliced peeled cored apples - (96 oz)
2 1/2 teaspoons 12mlCinnamon
5 tablespoons 75mlTabasco brand Pepper Sauce
12 scoops  Vanilla ice cream
  Whipped cream - as needed

Recipe Instructions

To prepare the crumb topping, combine flour, butter and 36 ounces brown sugar. Mix well. Hold.

Combine apples, cinnamon, Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce and remaining 8 ounces brown sugar. Spread on a greased sheet pan and top with reserved crumb topping. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes until top is golden brown. Cut into 12 portions.

For each serving, place one 8 ounce portion of Brown Betty on a plate. Top with one scoop ice cream and whipped cream.
