Cauliflower Au Gratin Recipe - Cooking Index
1 1/2 lbs | 681g / 24oz | Cauliflower head |

1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
1 1/4 cups | 296ml | Milk |

Separate cauliflower into small flowerettes. Cook in small amount boiling salted water until tender; drain.
In medium saucepan, melt butter; blend in flour, salt, and pepper until smooth. Mix in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring until mixture thickens and boils. Mix in Spam.
Place cauliflower in lightly-greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish. Pour on Spam mixture; stir to mix well. Sprinkle cheese over top. Bake in 450 degree oven 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly browned on top.
Microwave directions: Place cauliflowerettes, 1/4 cup water, and 1/4 teaspoon butter in 1 1/2-quart casserole; cover and microwave 8 minutes, stirring after 4 minutes.
In 4-cup measure, stir together flour, salt, and pepper; slowly mix in milk until smooth. Microwave 3 minutes. Mix until smooth; microwave 2 minutes more. Stir until smooth.
Add Spam to casserole; pour sauce over. Microwave 3 minutes. Stir; sprinkle with cheese and microwave 2 minutes more. Cover and let stand2 minutes.
