Stayabed Stew Recipe - Cooking Index
This recipe calls for cooking the meat at only 275 degrees. However the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline advises that all meat must be cooked at a temperature of at least 325 degrees to avoid the risk of food poisoning. The meat will be done in about 3 hours at 325 degrees.

1 | Cream of tomato soup or celery | |
Or mushroom soup | ||
1/2 | Soup can water | |
1 | Raw potato - sliced (large) | |
Bay leaf piece - (optional) |
Combine meat, peas, carrots, onions, salt, pepper, soup, water, potato and bay leaf in a casserole dish that has a tight lid. Put the lid on and put the casserole in a 275 degree oven. Now go back to bed. It will cook happily all by itself and be done in 5 hours.
This recipe yields 5 to 6 servings.
