Green Chile Stew

Recipe Ingredients

2 lbs 908g / 32ozLean beef - cut in cubes
  (or use chicken or pork)
  Cooking oil - as needed
1   Onion - chopped (small)
2   Potatoes - (to 4) - cubed
8 oz 227gFresh green chiles - roasted, peeled,
  And chopped
  (or frozen or canned chiles)
1 teaspoon 5mlGarlic salt
  (or 1 to 2 garlic cloves, minced)
1 teaspoon 5mlSalt
6 cups 1422mlWater or broth - (to 7 cups)

Recipe Instructions

Brown meat in a little oil in a large heave stew pot. Add onions and diced potatoes and brown with meat. After browning pour off any excess fat. Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil and simmer 30 minutes to 1 hour. Serve with warm flour tortillas.
