Salsa Balsamella

Recipe Ingredients

1   Unsalted butter
1 cup 62g / 2.2ozAll-purpose flour
4 cups 948mlHot milk
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlFreshly grated nutmeg

Recipe Instructions

Melt butter in a 2-quart saucepan until frothing. Remove from heat and stir in flour with a whisk. Cook over low heat for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add 1/2 hot milk an whisk until smooth. Add remaining milk and whisk until smooth. Bring to boil, add nutmeg, lower heat and simmer 10 minutes.

Can be used hot or cold.
