Ham Chowder

Buy a thick slice of ham at the deli counter and trim off any fat before dicing it.

Recipe Ingredients

1   Chowder Base - (see recipe)
1   Diced tomatoes in juice - (15 oz)
1   Reduced-sodium chicken broth - (14 1/2 oz) - defatted
2 cups 292g / 10ozDiced lean ham
1 cup 237mlFrozen green peas
1 teaspoon 5mlLow-sodium Worcestershire sauce

Recipe Instructions

Prepare or reheat chowder base.

Stir in tomatoes (with juice), broth, ham, peas, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer 15 minutes.

This recipe yields 10 1/2 cups.
