Fresh Crab Cocktail Recipe - Cooking Index
Cocktail Sauce | ||
2 cups | 474ml | Tomato sauce |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Horseradish (fresh if available) |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Burgundy wine - (optional) |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Lemon juice |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
Crab Cocktail | ||
2 | Fresh Dugeness crabs - cleaned and cracked | |
Shredded fresh icebury lettuce | ||
2 | Fresh lemons - quartered |
For the Cocktail Sauce: Combine all ingredients by hand and chill thoroughly.
For the Crab Cocktail: Line a serving bowl with the shredded lettuce. Arrange a cracked crab attractively on top of lettuce and garnish with lemon quarters. Serve cocktail sauce in separate bowl.
