Simple Salmon Chowder Recipe - Cooking Index
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Butter |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Onion - diced (large) |
1 1/2 cups | 165g / 5.8oz | Diced celery |
4 cups | 584g / 20oz | Or 3 large potatoes - diced (medium) |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Cornstarch - (rounded) |
1 | Evaporated milk - (12 oz) | |
1 1/2 cups | 355ml | Cooked salmon - (to 2 cups) |
(2 small cans or 1 large can) |
Saute celery and onion in butter until brown. Add potatoes and enough water to cover. Simmer 20 minutes or until potatoes are done.
Stir cornstarch into about 1 cup water and add to mixture. Increase heat to thicken. Add milk and salmon and serve when hot.
This recipe yields 4 servings.
