Rice-And-Lentil Pilaf Recipe - Cooking Index

3/4 cup | 46g / 1.6oz | Chopped onion |
1/2 cup | 55g / 1.9oz | Chopped celery |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Sliced fresh mushrooms |
1 cup | 237ml | Water |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Uncooked lentils |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Garlic powder |
16 oz | 454g | One-third-less sodium chicken broth - (1 can) |
2/3 cup | 106g / 3.7oz | Uncooked basmati rice |
Coat a saucepan with cooking spray; place over medium heat until hot. Add onion and next 2 ingredients; sautee3 minutes or until tender. Add water and next 3 ingredients, and bring to a boil. Cook 2 minutes.
Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes. Add rice; simmer 20 minutes or until the rice is done and lentils are tender. Stir well. Yield: 4 servings (serving size: 1 cup).
