Cenci - (Fried Dough Bows with Confectioners' Sugar)

Recipe Ingredients

12 oz 340gFlour
1 1/2 tablespoons 22mlVanilla extract
3   Egg yolks
1 1/2 oz 42gButter
2 tablespoons 30mlAnise flavored liqueur
2 tablespoons 30mlSugar
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlLemon zest
1 oz 28gMilk
  Oil - for frying
  Confectioners' sugar

Recipe Instructions

Mix all ingredients in a food processor. Roll thin with a rolling pin into a rectangle 8-inches long. Cut into strips approximately 1-inch by 8-inches. Twist the pieces softly and tie into a loose bow. Deep-fry in oil until golden. Remove from the oil and sprinkle heavily with confectioners' sugar.

This recipe yields 4 servings.
