Angel Food Cake With Warm Cherry Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
1 | Bag frozen cherries - (12 oz) | |
1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Golden raisins |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Apple brandy = (apple Jack brand recommended) |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Sugar |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Ground cinnamon |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Ground cloves |
4 | Store-bought angel food cake | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Sour cream |
Combine the cherries, raisins, apple brandy, butter, sugar, and spices in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook until butter is melted and sauce has thickened, about 5 minutes.
Put the angel food cake slices on 4 plates, and top each with a scoop of cherry sauce and a dollop of sour cream.
