Sunny Apple Crisp Recipe - Cooking Index
A crisp is one of the easiest desserts that a nonbaker can make.

1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Light-brown sugar - (packed) |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | All-purpose flour |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Rolled oats |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Ground cinnamon |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Chopped walnuts |
4 | Apples - peeled, cored, | |
And cut into 1/2" dice | ||
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Fresh lemon juice |
Optional | ||
Vanilla ice cream or heavy cream - for serving |
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8-inch square baking dish.
For the topping, combine the butter, sugar, flour, oats and cinnamon in a bowl. Work the ingredients together with your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Toss in the walnuts and set aside.
Toss the apples with the lemon juice and spoon into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the reserved topping mixture evenly over the apples. Bake in the center of the oven for 1 hour or until bubbly and the apples are tender.
Let Sunny Apple Crisp cool slightly. Serve warm, topped with ice cream or cream, if desired.
