Party Barbecue Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
Prepare this sauce 2 days ahead of your party for the flavors to meld. Any extra freezes well.
Courses: Sauces2 cups | 474ml | Ketchup |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Minced red onion |
1 | Water | |
1 cup | 237ml | Cider vinegar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Paprika |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Honey |
1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Dark-brown sugar |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Chili powder |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Fresh lemon juice |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Worcestershire sauce |
3 | Garlic cloves - very finely minced |
Combine all the ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a slow boil; cook until thickened (25 to 30 minutes), stirring constantly to prevent the sauce from scorching.
Strain into a bowl to remove the onion and garlic. Cool, then refrigerate for 2 days.
This recipe yields 4 1/2 cups for 18 servings.
