Sugar Plums

My mother used to make a version of this when I was a kid that had sweetened condensed milk in it. I used to love eating the part closest to the clove, then chewing on the clove to make my lips numb.

Recipe Ingredients

1/2 lb 227g / 8ozCream cheese - room temperature
1/4 cup 49g / 1.7ozUnsalted butter - room temperature
4   Sugar-free strawberry Jell-o
  = (11 gram packages [0.3 oz])
24   Whole cloves
1 1/2 cups 139g / 4.9ozUnsweetened desiccated long-shred coconut

Recipe Instructions

Beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Beat in 3 packages of the Jell-o until well blended, then stir in the coconut. Sprinkle the one remaining package of Jell-o on a plate.

Form level tablespoons of the mixture into balls and roll in the Jell-o powder. Stick a clove into each ball.

This recipe yields 24 pieces.
