Quick Strawberry Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Strawberries - rinsed, hulled |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Sugar |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Orange juice |
Place the strawberries, sugar and orange juice in the work bowl of a food processor and pulse 4 or 5 times just to chop them small. Don't puree.
Transfer the mixture into a small nonstick skillet and cook over medium-high heat until it begins to thicken, about 5 minutes. Set aside until ready to use. This sauce is good served on pancakes.
This recipe yields 1 cup for 8 servings.
Each serving: 34 calories; 0 sodium; 0 cholesterol; 0 fat; 0 saturated fat; 8 grams carbohydrates; 0 protein; 0.65 gram fiber.
