Marinara Sauce - 3 Recipe - Cooking Index
1 | Italian tomatoes - crushed (by hand) | |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Olive oil |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Red wine |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Onion chopped (large) |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Dried sweet basil |
3 | Garlic - minced | |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Oregano - dried |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Tomato paste |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
28 oz | 795g | Tomato puree |
Salt and pepper to taste |
Sauteethe garlic in the olive oil until lightly browned. Add the onion and sauteefor one minute more.
Add all other ingredients and simmer 2 hours stirring often to prevent sticking.
