Polo Lounge Granola

1/4 cup 59mlApple juice
1/2 cup 118mlOil
6 cups 1422mlOatmeal
3/4 cup 82g / 2.9ozShelled sunflower seeds
3/4 cup 82g / 2.9ozSesame seeds
1 1/2 cups 355mlPecan pieces
1 1/2 cups 139g / 4.9ozSliced almonds
3/4 cup 177mlPine nuts
1 cup 93g / 3.3ozShredded coconut
3/4 cup 177mlWheat germ
1/2 cup 118mlLecithin
  Salt
1 1/4 cups 296mlNonfat dry milk
1/2 cup 80g / 2.8ozBrown sugar - (packed)
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlCinnamon

Recipe Instructions

Heat the oven to 300 degrees.

Combine the honey, corn syrup, apple juice and oil in large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove from the heat.

Combine the oatmeal, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, pecans, almonds, pine nuts, coconut, wheat germ, lecithin, a dash of salt, the dry milk, brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Add to the hot liquid in the saucepan and stir with a wooden spoon until combined.

Spread the granola mixture on 2 baking sheets and bake, stirring with a wooden spoon every 10 minutes, until the cereal is lightly browned and crunchy, about 40 minutes. Cool, then store in airtight containers.

This recipe yields 24 half-cup servings.

Each serving: 393 calories; 57 mg sodium; 6 mg cholesterol; 26 grams fat; 5 grams saturated fat; 37 grams carbohydrates; 9 grams protein; 5.04 grams fiber.
