3/4 cup | 148g / 5.2oz | Sugar |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Shortening |

2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Flour |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Baking powder |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Milk |
2 cups | 474ml | Blueberries |
For the Streusel: Mix the sugar, cinnamon, flour and butter. Set aside.
For the Buckle: Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Butter and flour a 10- by 6-inch baking dish.
Beat the sugar and shortening until fluffy, then beat in the egg. Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder and add to the shortening alternately with the milk. Blend in the blueberries and pour into the baking dish. Sprinkle with the streusel.
Bake until the top is browned, about 45 minutes.
This recipe yields 6 to 8 servings.
