Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Melted unsalted butter - (2 sticks) |
1 1/2 cups | 240g / 8.5oz | Dark brown sugar - (packed) |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Granulated sugar |

1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Vanilla extract |
3/8 teaspoon | 1.9ml | Salt |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Baking soda |
2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Flour - plus |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Flour |
3 cups | 330g / 11oz | Chocolate chips or chunks |
Combine the butter, brown and granulated sugars, eggs, vanilla, salt, baking soda, flour and chocolate. Chill the batter 20 to 30 minutes (or refrigerate up to three days).
Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Stack 2 baking sheets together and line the top one with parchment paper. Place big gobs of dough on the baking sheet (about 3 tablespoons full) 2 inches apart. Bake the cookies until they're puffed up and set, 12 to 14 minutes. Let them rest on the sheet before removing, about 10 minutes.
This recipe yields 18 cookies.
