Mandarins With Lavender And Honey Recipe - Cooking Index
1/3 cup | 78ml | Mild honey such as orange or star thistle |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Dried lavender or 6 stalks of |
Fresh lavender blossoms | ||
3 | Satsuma or other seedless mandarins |
Warm the honey, and if you are using the dried lavender, crush it and add it to the honey. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it steep until it has a nice lavender flavor, about 30 minutes. Strain the honey before serving.
Peel the mandarins, and with a very sharp knife, cut them into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Arrange the slices, slightly overlapping, on dessert plates. Drizzle the honey over the mandarin slices. If you have fresh lavender, gently pull the tiny blossoms from the stalks and strew them over the mandarin slices.
