10 tablespoons | 150ml | Butter - plus more |
4 oz | 113g | Unsweetened chocolate |
5 oz | 142g | Semisweet chocolate |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Vanilla extract |

2 cups | 396g / 13oz | Sugar |
1 1/3 cups | 83g / 2.9oz | Flour |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
4 oz | 113g | Semisweet chocolate chips |
Combine butter, unsweetened chocolate and semisweet chocolate in top of double boiler set over, but not touching, simmering water. Stir mixture constantly until thoroughly melted and smooth, 5 minutes. Set aside.
Beat together vanilla, eggs and sugar on medium speed until fluffy, about 10 minutes. Gradually beat in flour and salt until pale in color, about 10 minutes. Add chocolate-butter mixture and beat until well blended, 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in chocolate chips.
Pour batter into greased 13- by 9-inch baking pan, spreading evenly. Bake at 350 degrees until skewer comes out clean when inserted in center, about 35 minutes. Rotate pan halfway through baking.
This recipe yields 16 brownies.
