1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Ground pork sausage |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Ground beef |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Chopped green bell pepper |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Chopped pimiento |
1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Uncooked rice |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Evaporated milk |
1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Chopped onion |
Flour - for rolling | ||
1 | Tomato sauce - (16 oz) |
Combine sausage, ground beef, bell pepper, pimiento, rice, salt, pepper, milk and onion in large bowl. Mix well and form into 1-inch balls.
Roll in flour and place in 13- by 9-inch baking dish. Top with tomato sauce.
Cover and bake at 350 degrees until meatballs have plumped and rice in them is cooked, about 2 hours.
This recipe yields 6 servings.
