Run-For-The-Roses Mint Juleps

Serves: 4 people

Recipe Ingredients

2 tablespoons 30mlSugar
6 tablespoons 90mlFinely-chopped fresh mint
1/4 cup 59mlCold water
  Crushed or finely cracked ice
  Kentucky Bourbon - to taste
4   Straws (nonflexible) - cut in half
4   Mint sprigs - for garnish

Recipe Instructions

Place sugar and mint in a small bowl and mash with backside of spoon until mint leaves are crushed into paste, 2 to 3 minutes. Add water and mix well.

Add 2 teaspoons mint syrup to each glass. Fill highball glasses to top with crushed ice and pour Bourbon over ice, filling to brim. Garnish each glass with 2 short straws and mint sprig.

This recipe yields 4 servings.
