Run-For-The-Roses Mint Juleps Recipe - Cooking Index
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Sugar |
6 tablespoons | 90ml | Finely-chopped fresh mint |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Cold water |
Crushed or finely cracked ice | ||
Kentucky Bourbon - to taste | ||
4 | Straws (nonflexible) - cut in half | |
4 | Mint sprigs - for garnish |
Place sugar and mint in a small bowl and mash with backside of spoon until mint leaves are crushed into paste, 2 to 3 minutes. Add water and mix well.
Add 2 teaspoons mint syrup to each glass. Fill highball glasses to top with crushed ice and pour Bourbon over ice, filling to brim. Garnish each glass with 2 short straws and mint sprig.
This recipe yields 4 servings.
