Lyons English Grill Cabbage Soup

Recipe Ingredients

1/2 lb 227g / 8ozGround beef - (to 3/4 lb)
1   Onion - sliced
2 cups 474mlChicken or beef broth
3 cups 711mlTomato juice
1   Cream of tomato soup - (11 oz)
1 teaspoon 5mlGarlic powder
1 teaspoon 5mlSugar
5 cups 730g / 25ozShredded or diced cabbage - (to 6 cups)
  Salt - to taste
  Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste

Recipe Instructions

Saute ground beef in large pot over medium-high heat until browned, 5 minutes. Add onion and cook until translucent, 5 minutes. Add broth, tomato juice, tomato soup, garlic powder, sugar, cabbage and salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer until cabbage is very tender, about 20 to 30 minutes.

This recipe yields 8 servings.
