1 tablespoon | 15ml | Soy sauce |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Sesame oil |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Sugar |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Rib eye or other tender thick beef - cut into |
Cubes 1" to 1 1/2" in size | ||
1 | Green onions - sliced 1" pieces | |
1/4 | Rice cake sticks - (1 lb pkg) - see * Note, | |
Cut into 1" to 1 1/2" cubes | ||
1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | White mushrooms - (optional) |
* Note: Rice cake sticks are available at Korean markets.
Combine soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar. Marinate beef in mixture 30 minutes.
Thread beef onto 2 parallel skewers (so that both skewers pierce meat), alternating with green onion pieces, rice cake pieces and mushrooms, if using.
Grill over high heat until meat reaches desired doneness, about 5 to 8 minutes for medium-rare.
This recipe yields 5 to 6 servings.
