Raita: Yogurt Salad Recipe - Cooking Index
2 cups | 474ml | Plain yogurt |
1 cup | 110g / 3.9oz | Cucumber - peeled, seeds (large) |
Removed, finely chopped | ||
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Minced fresh mint leaves |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Ground cumin |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Paprika |
1 | Sugar | |
1 | Cayenne |
Place the yogurt in a fine mesh strainer set over a bowl and drain for 1 hour. Discard the liquid in the bowl.
Place the drained yogurt in a medium bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well to combine. Place, covered, in the refrigerator for 1 hour to cool and blend. Stir well and serve.
This recipe yields about 2 cups.
