Turbo Dog Braised Cabbage Recipe - Cooking Index
1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Bacon - chopped |
2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Thinly-sliced onions |
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste | ||
1/4 cup | 59ml | Creole mustard |
1/2 | White cabbage head - (abt 1 1/2 lbs) - shredded | |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Chopped garlic |
1 | Turbo Dog beer | |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Heavy cream |
In a large saucepan, over medium heat, render the bacon until crispy. Add the onions. Season with pepper. Saute until the onions are soft, about 4 minutes. Add the mustard and cabbage. Season with salt and pepper. Saute for 3 minutes.
Add the garlic, and beer, cover and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the cream, stir to mix and cook, covered for 10 minutes. Serve warm.
This recipe yields 8 servings.
