Spicy Sesame Seed Topper Recipe - Cooking Index
Just about any kind of seed -- sunflower, pumpkin, as well as sesame -- will provide a nice crunch in this topping. Toasting the seeds gives the mixture a richer flavor. Use this on biscuits or in a cold pasta salad.
Courses: Sauces1 cup | 110g / 3.9oz | Sesame seeds |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Vegetable oil |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Curry powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Garlic powder |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt |
In a 1-quart microwavable casserole, combine the sesame seeds and oil. Stir in the curry powder, garlic powder, and salt. Microwave on high for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the seeds are golden, stirring twice during cooking. Cool. Store in the refrigerator in a jar or tightly covered container.
This recipe yields 1 cup.
