Garden Tomato Sauce, California Style Pasta Recipe - Cooking Index
5 cups | 312g / 11oz | Chopped onions |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Minced garlic |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Olive oil |
7 lbs | 3178g / 112oz | Tomatoes - whole |
2 | Zucchini - cubed | |
1 | Corn kernels | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Salt |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Red pepper flakes - crushed |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Sugar |
1 1/3 cups | 194g / 6.8oz | Chopped fresh basil |
3 lbs | 1362g / 48oz | Cooked pasta - rotelli |
Pantry: Four 28-oz cans of whole tomatoes. Sauteeonions in oil in a large skillet over medium high heat until softened. Stir in canned tomatoes in their liquid and remaining ingredients, except basil and pasta. Cook 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Stir in basil and serve over pasta.
