Broccoli With Lemon-Butter Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
1 1/2 lbs | 681g / 24oz | Fresh broccoli |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Unsalted butter |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Lemon juice |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Lemon - cut into wedges (large) |
Wash broccoli, and trim tough stems. Cut each stalk of broccoli into several pieces.
Place broccoli into a vegetable steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes until broccoli is tender.
In a small skillet, melt butter, then add lemon juice. Drizzle lemon butter over broccoli, and serve with lemon wedges.
Variation: For herbed broccoli, add 1/2 teaspoon marjoram and 1/2 teaspoon dried basil to the lemon-butter mixture.
This recipe yields 8 servings. Serving size: 1/2 cup.
