Blonde Brownies Recipe - Cooking Index
Hard to believe something so yummy could be this easy. Simply melt the margarine and stir in the other ingredients.

3/4 cup | 120g / 4.2oz | Light brown sugar - (firmly packed) |
1 | Egg - slightly beaten | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla extract |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Baking powder |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Baking soda |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | All-purpose flour |
1/4 cup | 27g / 1oz | Mini-chocolate chips |
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8- by 8-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
In a medium saucepan, melt the margarine. Add the sugar and stir until smooth and slightly cooked, 2 minutes. Blend in the egg. Add the vanilla, baking powder, and baking soda; stir just to remove lumps. Add the flour and stir until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Spread the batter in the prepared baking pan. Bake until the top is slightly set and lightly browned, 20 minutes; do not over-bake.
This recipe yields 16 servings. Serving size: 1 brownie.
