Whole-Wheat Walnut Cookies Recipe - Cooking Index
These cookies, with a hint of orange and pumpkin pie spice, are perfect for the holiday season.

1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Orange zest |
2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Whole-wheat flour |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Walnuts - finely chopped |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Pumpkin pie spice |
In a medium bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, and beat well. Mix in the orange juice and zest. Add in the flour, walnuts, and pumpkin pie spice.
Refrigerate the dough until firm, about 1 to 2 hours. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness and cut into cookie shapes, enough for 40 cookies.
Place the cookies on a nonstick cookie sheet 1/2 inch apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until lightly browned.
