Apples And Pears With Whole Spices Recipe - Cooking Index
Here's a different way to get a fruit serving. The apples and pears melt right into a spicy sauce that will warm your insides and tickle your palate.
Type: Fruit2 oz | 56g | Baking apples - unpeeled, and (medium) cubed into 1" pieces |
1 | Pear - unpeeled, and (medium) cubed into 1" pieces | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Lemon juice |
3/4 cup | 177ml | Water |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Apple juice concentrated |
3 | Whole cloves | |
2 | Cinnamon sticks | |
2 | Cardamom pods | |
2 | Allspice berries |
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan over high heat.
Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes, until the apples and pears are soft. Add more water if necessary.
