Real Italian Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
12 oz | 340g | Canned tomato paste |
2 cups | 474ml | Water |
1 | V-8 juice - (12 oz) | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Minced onion |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Wine vinegar |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Minced garlic |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Dried oregano |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Dried basil |
1 | Crushed red pepper |
Combine all ingredients in a medium pot. Simmer gently for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. This sauce keeps well in refrigerator or may be frozen in 1-cup containers and used as needed.
This recipe yields 3 1/2 cups. Serving size: 1/2 cup.
