Miracle Red "French" Dressing Recipe - Cooking Index
The miracle is that this delicious dressing is fat-free and will not use up your Fat Exchanges. Try it as a marinade for flank steak before grilling.
Courses: Salads1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Granulated gelatin |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Cold water |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Boiling water |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Tomato juice |
1/4 cup | 59ml | White vinegar |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Garlic powder |
= (or 1 garlic clove, crushed) | ||
1 | Freshly-ground black pepper | |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Dry mustard |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Worcestershire sauce |
Sugar substitute equal to 1 tbspn sugar |
Soften gelatin in cold water. Add boiling water; stir until dissolved. Turn into a pint jar with all the remaining ingredients.
Cover tightly; shake thoroughly. Chill for a few hours before serving. Stir occasionally to prevent gelling at bottom. Shake gently before using.
This recipe yields 8 servings. Serving size: 1 to 2 tablespoons.
