Red Rice

Recipe Ingredients

4   Bacon - (to 6) - fried, crumbled
1   Onion - coarsely chopped (large)
2   Chopped tomatoes - (15 oz ea)
1 cup 160g / 5.6ozConverted rice
1/2 cup 73g / 2.6ozChopped cooked ham - (to 1 cup)
  Salt - to taste
  Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste
1/8 teaspoon 0.6mlHot pepper sauce - or to taste

Recipe Instructions

Fry bacon; drain and crumble. Cook onion in bacon grease just until softened. Combine all ingredients in the crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours, or until rice is tender but not mushy.

This recipe yields 6 to 8 servings.
