Red Rice Recipe - Cooking Index
4 | Bacon - (to 6) - fried, crumbled | |
1 | Onion - coarsely chopped (large) | |
2 | Chopped tomatoes - (15 oz ea) | |
1 cup | 160g / 5.6oz | Converted rice |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Chopped cooked ham - (to 1 cup) |
Salt - to taste | ||
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste | ||
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Hot pepper sauce - or to taste |
Fry bacon; drain and crumble. Cook onion in bacon grease just until softened. Combine all ingredients in the crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours, or until rice is tender but not mushy.
This recipe yields 6 to 8 servings.
