1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Brown sugar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Flour |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Vinegar |
1 cup | 237ml | Red cabbage head - shreded (medium) |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Onion - chopped fine (small) |
Combine 1 tablespoon of bacon drippings in slow cooking pot with sugar, flour, salt and pepper. Stir in water and vinegar; add cabbage and onion; stir to combine. Cover and cook on LOW 3 to 4 hours. Sprinkle cooked bacon over the top.
This recipe yields 6 servings.
