Recipe Ingredients

4   Bacon - diced, crisped,
  Saving 1 tbspn drippings
1/4 cup 40g / 1.4ozBrown sugar
2 tablespoons 30mlFlour
1 teaspoon 5mlSalt
1/8 teaspoon 0.6mlFreshly-ground black pepper
1/2 cup 118mlWater
1/4 cup 59mlVinegar
1 cup 237mlRed cabbage head - shreded (medium)
1 cup 62g / 2.2ozOnion - chopped fine (small)

Recipe Instructions

Combine 1 tablespoon of bacon drippings in slow cooking pot with sugar, flour, salt and pepper. Stir in water and vinegar; add cabbage and onion; stir to combine. Cover and cook on LOW 3 to 4 hours. Sprinkle cooked bacon over the top.

This recipe yields 6 servings.
