Then cut into 1/2" pieces | ||
1 | Dried split peas - (16 oz) - sorted, rinsed | |
3 | Carrots - sliced (medium) | |
2 | Celery ribs - sliced | |
1 | Onion - chopped (medium) | |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Dried marjoram leaves |
1 | Bay leaf | |
2 | Reduced-sodium chicken broth - (14 1/2 oz ea) |
Heat small skillet over medium heat. Add sausage; cook 5 to 8 minutes or until browned. Drain well.
Combine sausage and remaining ingredients in slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW 4 to 5 hours or until peas are tender.
Turn off heat. Remove and discard bay leaf. Cover and let stand 15 minutes to thicken.
This recipe yields 6 servings.
