1 | Garlic clove - minced | |
1 | Hot-style tomato juice - (6 oz) | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Catsup |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Brown sugar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Chopped jalapeño peppers |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Dijon mustard |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Chili powder |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Worcestershire sauce |

In a large skillet cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain off fat.
Meanwhile, in a crock, combine tomato juice, catsup, water, brown sugar, jalapeño peppers, mustard, chili powder and Worcestershire sauce. Stir in meat mixture. Cover, cook on LOW heat setting for 10 to 12 hours or HIGH heat setting for 3 to 5 hours.
Toast buns; spoon meat mixture over buns and sprinkle with cheese.
This recipe yields 8 servings.
