Pea Soup With Bacon Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Chopped lean bacon |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Onion - chopped (medium) |
2 | Celery stalks - chopped | |
8 cups | 1896ml | Boiling water |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Split dried peas |
3 | Parsley sprigs | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Dried thyme |
3 | Potatoes - peeled, cubed | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
Place all ingredients in slow cooker. Cover and place on low setting. Cook 8 hours or more. Before serving, mash ingredients carefully with potato masher and stir well.
This recipe yields 12 servings.
