Lentil Soup Recipe - Cooking Index
2 cups | 474ml | Lentils |
1 1/2 tablespoons | 22ml | Artificial bacon bits |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Chopped onion |
1/2 cup | 55g / 1.9oz | Chopped celery |
1/4 cup | 27g / 1oz | Chopped carrot |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Snipped parsley |
1 | Garlic clove - crushed | |
2 1/2 teaspoons | 12ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Oregano |
1 | Tomatoes - (16 oz) | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Wine vinegar |
Rinse lentil beans. Place in cooker. Add 8 cups water and remaining ingredients except the tomatoes and vinegar. Cook all day (on LOW) in slow cooker.
Add tomatoes and vinegar. Turn to HIGH and simmer covered 30 minutes longer.
