Crock Pot Onion Soup Recipe - Cooking Index
1 | Beef bouillon | |
3 cups | 187g / 6.6oz | Sliced onion |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Butter |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Sugar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Flour |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Dry Vermouth or Cognac |
1 cup | 237ml | Parmesan or Mozarella |
Pour bouillon in crock pot, cover, set on HIGH.
Cook onions in a large skillet in butter for about 15 minutes. When done to desired consistency add sugar and salt, this will brown them, then add the flour. Add onion mixture to crock pot with Vermouth and cook on HIGH for 3 hours.
Ladle soup into bowls and sprinkle with cheese. Melt under broiler or in microwave.
