Marie Callender's Garlic Toast Recipe - Cooking Index
1 | Loaf French bread - sliced diagonally | |
1 | Butter | |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Olive oil |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Finely minced garlic |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Paprika |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Garlic salt |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Finely-minced fresh basil |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Parsley |
8 oz | 227g | Mozzarella cheese - finely shredded |
4 oz | 113g | Shredded Parmesan cheese Shredded |
In a small sauce pan melt butter, oil, garlic, paprika, salt, basil and parsley until blended.
Heat oven to 400 degrees and spread melted herb mixture on sliced bread and bake until the bread is just turning golden. Remove from oven and layer with mozzarella and parmesan on top. Place back in oven until cheeses are melted and serve warm.
Prepared bread is great served on top of a steaming bowl of French Onion Soup.
