Annabelle's French Toast Recipe - Cooking Index
8 | Eggs | |
1/2 pint | Half-and-half | |
Cinnamon - to taste | ||
Nutmeg - to taste | ||
Ginger - to taste | ||
Salt - to taste | ||
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Triple Sec - or to taste (or other orange-flavored liqueur) |
8 slices | French bread | |
Sweet butter | ||
Maple syrup | ||
Whipped cream | ||
Fresh strawberries | ||
Slivered almonds |
Beat together eggs and half-and-half. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and salt. Add a splash (two tablespoons or to taste) Triple Sec. Thoroughly soak bread in mixture.
Pan-fry in butter until golden. Serve hot, topped with maple syrup (preferably pure maple syrup) and whipped cream. Garnish with strawberries and slivered almonds.
