Betty Carter's Refrigerator Pickles Recipe - Cooking Index
12 lbs | 5448g / 192oz | Very small cucumbers |
1 | Onion - sliced | |
4 cups | 792g / 27oz | Sugar |
4 cups | 948ml | Vinegar |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Salt |
1 1/3 tablespoons | 19ml | Celery seed |
1 1/3 tablespoons | 19ml | Mustard seed |
1 1/3 teaspoons | 6.7ml | Turmeric |
Slice cucumbers and onion and place in gallon jars. Mix remaining ingredients well. Pour mixture over cucumbers. Screw lids on tightly. Place in refrigerator. Let stand 5 days before tasting. Will keep for a year.
