Recipe Ingredients

4 cups 584g / 20ozChopped cabbage
2 cups 125g / 4.4ozChopped onions
2 cups 292g / 10ozChopped green peppers
2 cups 125g / 4.4ozChopped green tomatoes
1/2 cup 118mlSalt
4 cups 948mlWhite vinegar
8 cups 1896mlWater
3/4 cup 148g / 5.2ozSugar
3 tablespoons 45mlMustard seed
2 tablespoons 30mlCelery seed

Recipe Instructions

Dissolve salt in water and pour over chopped vegetables. Let stand one hour; drain. Rinse and drain a second time to ensure that the mixture is not too salty.

Mix vegetables with sugar, spices and vinegar, simmer over low heat for 20 minutes. Bring to a boil, and then immediately pack into hot sterilized jars.
