Whole Wheat Pancakes Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Flour |
| 1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Whole-wheat flour |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking soda |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
| 1 cup | 237ml | Buttermilk |
| 1 | Egg | |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Oil |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Molasses |
| 1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Margarine |
| 6 oz | 170g | Maple syrup |
In a large bowl, combine flour, whole wheat flour, baking soda, and salt; mix well. In a smaller bowl, combine buttermilk, egg, oil, and molasses; mix well. Add the buttermilk mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just moistened (the batter will be slightly lumpy).
Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter onto a greased griddle and cook until the bubbles on top just begin to break. Turn and cook briefly on the other side. Serve with margarine and maple syrup.
This recipe yields 4 servings.
