1/3 cup | 65g / 2.3oz | Sugar |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Nutmeg |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Allspice |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Ginger |
1 | Egg - lightly beaten | |
3/4 cup | 177ml | Milk |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Vegetable oil |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Thick apple butter |
Topping | ||
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Crushed pecans or walnuts |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Sugar |
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a medium bowl, combine the first eight ingredients.
Combine egg, milk and oil; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.
Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups with a rounded tablespoon of batter. Top each with a rounded teaspoon of apple butter top with more batter.
Combine topping ingredients; sprinkle over muffins. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool.
